Martha’s Fusion Kitchen to Return; Qamaria Yemeni Coffee Will Expand to Lewis Center

Plus, Black Kahawa will offer a Downtown coffee patio, and Seattle’s Piroshky Piroshky Bakery visits Central Ohio.

After an extended closure for renovations, Martha’s Fusion Kitchen announced a tentative reopening this coming Monday, March 11. Located at 3331 Maize Road in North Linden, Martha’s was one of Columbus Monthly’s Best New Restaurants in 2022; the eatery is known especially for its creative use of birria in tacos, enchiladas and even noodle dishes.

Michigan-based Qamaria Yemeni Coffee Co., which has a location in Hilliard, announced a second Central Ohio store coming to 8911 S. Old State Road in Lewis Center. The coffee shop chain features a variety of drinks using Yemeni coffees, as well as traditional Yemeni pastries. An exact opening date for Lewis Center has not been announced yet.

Black Kahawa coffee roasters announced that it will open a “coffee patio” at Broad and High Downtown sometime soon. In addition to selling its roasts in a number of stores across the state, the East African-focused coffee purveyor operates a cart that has appeared around the city over the past couple years.

Seattle’s famous Eastern European bakery Piroshky Piroshky is touring the country this spring, with a planned Columbus stop on Friday, March 15. Guests must pre-order sweet and savory pastries online by 5 p.m. on Wednesday, March 13. They’ll then be available for pickup from 5-7 p.m. on the 15th at Combustion Brewery in Clintonville (2971 N. High St.).

New Albany’s Bubbly Hall welcomed its newest vendor this week. Crunchick takes the place of Just Chicken, and features Korean fried chicken in tenders, wings and sandwiches.

According to posts on its Facebook page this week, Hilliard’s Starliner Diner has begun serving signature dishes from the bygone Nancy’s Home Cooking. Nancy’s closed its longtime Clintonville diner in early 2020.

A new franchise of the juice and smoothie store Pure Green opens this Saturday, March 9 at 665 Worthington Road in Westerville.

As previously reported, Lion Cub’s Cookies will debut its second storefront this Friday, March 8 at 7105 N. High St. in Worthington.
