Hoster Brewing Opens Taproom on East Side; Mecha Noodle Bar Joins Short North

Plus, Kokomo Coffee & Juice Paradise debuts, and Fox in the Snow reopens after car crash.

Hoster Brewing Co. is making a comeback with a new brewery and taproom. After years of work, Hoster Brewing opens its new taproom today at 653 James Road on the East Side. The Hoster name dates to the L. Hoster Brewing Co., first opened in 1863. It’s been resurrected, along with signature brews like its Gold Top lager, multiple times over the years. (Read Joel Oliphint’s January feature on Hoster Brewing and owner Daniel Meyers.) The grand opening takes place 4-9 p.m. Thursday, April 11; 4-10 p.m. Friday, April 12; and noon-10 p.m. Saturday, April 13.

Connecticut-based Mecha Noodle Bar opens its first Central Ohio location tomorrow, April 12, at 965 N. High St. The Asian-themed spot takes over the former White Castle space in the Short North and serves steamed bao buns, dumplings, rolls, pho and ramen, as well as bubble tea and cocktails.

Kokomo Coffee & Juice Paradise soft opened this week at 694 Parsons Ave. The one-room shop is situated in a new build across from Comune restaurant and Parsons North Brewing Co.

After being closed since Monday after a car crashed through one of its windows, Fox in the Snow Café’s Italian Village location reopened this morning. Fortunately, no one was hurt.

The Columbus-based fast casual Bibibop Asian Grill opened a new location at 7397 State Route 3 in Westerville today.
